Conveners Needed
KBA is looking for House League program conveners at the following levels: Initiation (ages 5-6), Rookie (ages 7-8), and Minor (ages 9-10). Being a convener is a great way for parents who may not be comfortable with a coaching role to participate in their children's youth sport experience. No baseball experience is necessary, we just need an enthusiastic and organized volunteer.
The convener is our "on the ground" representative, responsible for:
- serving as liaison between the program directors and the teams, coaches, and parents
- responding to parent inquiries about your program
- helping guide the executive board in program decisions
- recruiting coaches and other volunteers
- running player sort-outs and helping to form the teams
- working with the uniforms, equipment, and fields managers to make sure your teams have everything they need to be successful
- and most importantly.... making sure our players have as much fun as possible while developing skills and friendships that will last a lifetime
The convener duties are relatively light during the playing season, requiring not much more time than an hour a week. Activity ramps up in April and is quite busy as we get the season started, but by early May, everything generally rolls along like a well oiled machine.
KBA is run entirely by volunteers and you will have plenty of help and guidance along the way. Everything is more fun with friends, if you'd like, bring yours and convene by committee!
There are several convener positions open - volunteer
