14U Cubs Ready to Go!

We are ready to resume baseball training activity. Thank you everyone for reading Kanata's Return to Sport Guidelines. Here are just a few reminders of what to expect as we return to the diamond:

If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home!

Until the maximum gathering size increases, we will enforce the 10-person limit. This includes players, coaches, parents, and siblings. Spectators are allowed to watch but must do so from a safe distance outside the diamonds.

Dugouts are closed until further notice. Player are to set their bags 2 metres apart from each other, outside the diamond parallel to the foul line closest to the parking lot.

Player should bring lots of water and hand sanitizer. We will be taking breaks at least every 30 minutes to hydrate and sanitize. Mask are encouraged if a player feels more comfortable to wear one but are not required.

Players should get used to not touching their face. Spitting, sunflower seeds, gum or licking fingers before throwing the ball will not be allowed. Any of these are ejectable offenses once season play begins.

Players should not share their equipment with one another. Team catcher gear will be assigned to one person for each practice and will be disinfected by the coaching staff in between sessions.

We will have to find an alternative way to congratulate one another - like maybe tipping your hat to show respect. Fist bumps, high fives and hand shaking are discouraged.

It is the responsibility of coaching staff to undertake cleaning / sanitization. As much as we appreciate our players' help, we would prefer them to be safe and to stay away from unnecessary risks.

The safety of our players is our most important priority. If everyone does their part and follows the rules, then we should all have a safe and fun season!
