Tokessy Tournament
The Scott Tokessy Memorial Gold Glove tournament runs from August 4th to 6th. This year marks the 26th anniversary of this charity little league tournament that has raised over $440,000 for CHEO's Cardiology Unit since 1996.
We have a bumper crop of teams attending this year....63!!!
Volunteer
The tournament committee (many of whom have been volunteering since 1996) are looking for help to manage all of the sites required for this large tournament.
Any KBA parents, high school students (volunteer hours granted), or cousins/friends of our members are asked to consider helping out with this prestigious tournament for such a worthy cause.
Volunteer positions include:
- Field set up and take down (bases, raking, chalking, mound repair etc)
- Site management (being at a diamond/location, being the person in charge if there are questions/concerns, ensuring teams get their score sheets and hand them back to you after the game, ensure umpires are provided with water)
- Canteen managing
- Help at the opening ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Tokessy field
- Selling Chuck-A-Ball baseballs at opening ceremonies.
- Help at raffle/auction tables
- Help with sound system (opening ceremonies)
- Other random tasks as needed

All proceeds from the tournament and donations go to the Cardiology Department of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). You donate through the CHEO foundation today.
