Tournament Rules

This is an OBA sanctioned tournament and all OBA rules are in place. Keep in mind:
  • no infield pregame warmups
  • all round-robin games will follow a "no new inning" after 2 hours.
  • OBA Arm Care rules must be followed by all teams
  • the "Home" team will be designated by coin flip, conducted by the site supervisor, and called by the team having travelled the furthest to Kanata.
  • the "Home" team shall provide the official scorekeeper.
  • the "Home" team shall provide the official pitch-counter (if home team is not OBA, the OBA team will be responsible for entering their pitch counts in the Pitch Count App.)
  • game is to be added to the Pitch Count App before the game and it's Game ID noted on the official score sheet
  • pitch counts are to be completed live-in-game pitch-by-pitch on the OBA Pitch Count App
  • pitch counts are to be submitted before teams leave the park
  • the official score sheet, signed by a coach from each team, must be submitted to the site supervisor before teams leave the park
  • RP7.4 Tie Breaker Rules will be followed as required after round-robin play.
  • Mercy rules as defined in the OBA Playing Rules apply in all games.
  • No new inning may be started after the time limit or curfew.  An inning shall be deemed to have started immediately after the last out in the bottom of the previous inning has occurred.
  • Where the home team scores to take the lead in the 7th inning, any extra inning or any inning that will be the last inning because of a curfew, the game ends immediately. Similarly, if the home team scores a run that results in a mercy condition, the game ends immediately with that run.
  • Ties are possible in round-robin play but not in championship rounds.
