Uniforms and Equipment


Uniforms - General Information

Players on OBA (Rep and Dedicated Select) teams will purchase and own their uniform (cap, pants, jersey, etc.) after teams are formed.  

Players in Rally Cap, Rookie House league, Little League, Junior & Senior League, 19U and summer or fall ball programs will be provided with either t-shirts and caps that they keep, or loaner jerseys that they return at the end of the season.  Baseball pants, cleats, athletic protectors, belts, etc. are always the responsibility of the player/family to provide. 

KBA Official Colours are Royal Blue, White and Red.

Equipment - General Information 

 

League Provided Mandatory:

Regardless of the program, Kanata Baseball provides the following equipment for each team:

  • Bats
  • Baseballs
  • Catcher’s equipment (mask, chest protector, shin guards and glove)

 

Player Provided  Mandatory Equipment:

In order to ensure your child’s success and safety, it is important that they come prepared to each practice and game with the proper equipment.  

  • All levels: For boys, an athletic protector (jock)
  • All levels: For girls,  an athletic protector (jill)
  • All levels: Batting helmet 
  • All levels: Glove

Detailed Uniform/Equipment Requirements by Program

Spring House:

League provided uniforms:

  • 6U/8U Rally Cap: Kanata Baseball T-shirt (player gets to keep) & Special edition Blue Jays Cap
  • Minor and up: Game jersey (to be returned to the league at the end of the season)
  • All levels: Kanata Baseball Cap (player gets to keep)

Player Provided  Mandatory Equipment:

In order to ensure your child’s success and safety, it is important that they come prepared to each practice and game with the proper equipment.  

 

  • All levels: For boys, an athletic protector (jock)
  • All levels: For girls,  an athletic protector (jill)
  • All levels: Batting helmet 
  • All levels: Glove

Player Furnished Optional Equipment:

  • White or Grey baseball pants (recommended as they are more durable than track pants)
  • Water bottle
  • 6U: Sturdy running shoes
  • 8U, LL Minor & Major: Rubber cleats (Note: soccer cleats are fine at younger ages)
  • Junior, Senior & 19U: Metal cleats allowed

Not permitted 

Players are not permitted to wear jewelry or other metallic items, except for medical alert tags.

 

  

Summer House / & Intertock:

League provided uniforms:

  • Rookie Summer (House teams): T-shirt (player gets to keep)
  • Rookie and up (Summer Interlock): Full Button Kanata Game jersey (to be returned to the league at the end of the season)
  • All levels: Kanata Baseball cap (player gets to keep)

Rep & Dedicated Select Teams

Rep (OBA) players and coaches are required to have at a minimum:

  • Home and Away jerseys with their number and name
  • Cubs cap
  • White pants
  • Royal blue belt
  • Royal Blue (matte) helmet (with chin strap for Peewee age and below)
  • 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U & 13U: Rubber cleats
  • 14U, 15U, 16U, 18U & 22U: Metal cleats allowed

Players and coaches will be sized after teams are formed, and items ordered through approved supplier by our Uniform Manager.  Players pay for and own their uniform items.

Optional items (at the discretion of the head coach and team manager):

  • Jackets, backpacks, secondary jerseys, practice t-shirts, compression shirts, shorts, hoodies, etc.

Additional equipment (such as a personal set of catcher’s equipment), are the responsibility of the player/family.

For Kanata Baseball parents, grandparents and friends looking to show their support, Fan Gear is available via our Swag Shop.  Items can be personalized.  KBA Official Colours are Royal Blue, White and Red.





Looking for Volunteers!

Can you help out? We will always welcome volunteers to help us distribute uniforms and equipment at the beginning of the season as well as help with collecting uniform and equipment returns at the end of the season. Time commitment is minimal (a couple of hours at the end of April, beginning of July or end of August)
