District / All-Star Coaches Wanted 

Kanata Baseball is looking for coaches interested in leading our District (All-Star) teams for the 2026 season.

What Are District Teams?

District teams are the first step on the Little League World Series pathway:
Districts - Provincials - Nationals - World Series

Kanata competes in Little League Ontario - District 2, alongside Ottawa West and East Nepean.
District tournaments are round-robin, with the top two teams advancing to the District 2 Championship Final.

District Tournament Timeline (Approximate)

• Senior (15/16):Late June (we aim to avoid Canada Day when possible)
• Junior (13/14): Early July (first week following Canada Day)
• Major (11/12): Second week of Jul
• Minor (9/10): Third week of July

Age Divisions

We are seeking coaches for:

• Minor (9/10 - as of Aug 31) - Provincials only
• Major (11/12 - as of Aug 31)
• Intermediate (12/13 - as of Aug 31)
• Junior (13/14 - as of Aug 31)
• Senior (15/16 - as of Aug 31)

About Our “All-Star” Model

District teams focus on giving more players the opportunity to compete at the All-Star level, while proudly representing Kanata on the Little League pathway.

Player Eligibility & Selection

• Players (with limited Senior exceptions) must have played 70% of league games (minimum 8 of 12)
• Team selection is flexible and may include league input, coaches’ recommendations, tryouts, and identification of the most deserving players
• District coaches are part of the selection process

What We’re Looking for in Coaches

District coaches should be:
 Comfortable managing strict Little League tournament rules
 Willing to hold additional practices in June, alongside regular spring team commitments
 Interested in guiding and developing players in a competitive, high-level environment
